Koran Garda Revolusi Islam (IRGC) Iran menyatakan telah menargetkan dua kapal AS, delapan kapal tanker minyak, dan 10 kapal lain yang melintasi zona terlarang di Selat Hormuz sebagai balasan atas serangan AS terhadap lima kapal tanker minyak Iran di Teluk Persia.
