• • Volcanic eruptions, including Anak Krakatau in the Sunda Strait, were also discussed.
• • The Geological Agency currently operates under the coordination of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
• • BMKG reports directly to the President.
• • BMKG has undergone several name and status changes, becoming an Eselon I unit under the Transportation Ministry in 1980.
• • BMKG became a Non-Departmental Government Institution (LPND) in 2002 via Presidential Decrees 46 and 48 of 2002.
• • BMKG received its current name in 2008 through Presidential Regulation 61/2008.
