BMKG: Abu Vulkanik Gunung Anak Krakatau Belum Terindikasi Masuk Jawa Tengah

BMKG melalui Stasiun Meteorologi Ahmad Yani Semarang menyatakan bahwa hasil paper test oleh BMKG Cilacap, Semarang, dan Tegal pada 7 September menunjukkan negatif indikasi deposisi abu vulkanik Gunung Anak Krakatau di Jawa Tengah. Debu yang muncul di masyarakat lebih disebabkan oleh kondisi tanah kering di musim kemarau, bukan abu vulkanik, didukung data SPM PM2.5 yang tidak berubah signifikan serta peta Satelit Himawari-9 VA dan VAAC Darwin yang menunjukkan sebaran abu bergerak ke barat daya menuju Samudera Hindia. BMKG mengimbau warga tidak menginterpretasi secara mandiri sebaran abu vulkanik berdasarkan peta angin dan aplikasi pihak ketiga.
