BNPB Pakai 3 Metode Operasi Modifikasi Cuaca Atasi Dampak Abu Vulkanik

BNPB menjalankan operasi modifikasi cuaca (OMC) guna atasi dampak abu vulkanik Gunung Anak Krakatau dengan tiga metode. Metode pertama cloud seeding dilakukan di Lanud Ahmad Yani Semarang pada 7 September 2026 menggunakan 650 liter air dan 350 kg CaCl2. Dua metode lanjutan, water mist dengan 2.000 liter air plus surfaktan serta penyemaian 1.000 kg NaCl, dilakukan via Bandara Pondok Cabe pada 8 September 2026 untuk turunkan polutan dan picu hujan.

BNPB conducted weather modification operations (OMC) to address volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau.
Three methods were used in the OMC operations.

The third method used sodium chloride (NaCl) or salt seeding, also from Pondok Cabe Airport on Tuesday (8/9).
The salt seeding operation used 1,000 kg of salt.
The salt seeding was carried out in one sortie to induce rain in several locations.
